Ad Gaudium
Counseling

Christine Harris, LPC
I believe people have an inherent desire to seek out joy, peace, order, stability, belonging, and purpose in their lives and relationships. However, through the ever-changing circumstances and challenges in life, we can find ourselves feeling depressed, anxious, chaotic, alone, and lost. I work from a strengths-based perspective of hope, believing that wherever you are “stuck,” there is room for change and growth.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), solution-focused techniques, and am Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) informed. I have worked within foster care, secondary education, community mental health, university counseling, private practice, and crisis response. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults on issues including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, and spirituality.
I focus on building a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a confidential setting. I believe in the power of therapy to promote personal growth and self-discovery.

I see life as a complex, beautiful adventure, in which we are both students and authors. I am here to support you in your journey of learning through, and authoring your life, in pursuit of becoming the best version of yourself.
Our Story
Christine Harris, LPC founded her solo private practice Ad Gaudium Counseling in 2025 with the vision of sharing her counseling skillset in service to others. Originally from Tyler, TX, Christine feels a special connection to the East Texas community.
Christine obtained a BFA in Dance Performance from Southern Methodist University, where she participated in the Hunt Scholars Leadership Program. Her performing arts education and training led her to New York City after college to pursue experience in professional dance, singing, and acting. Christine subsequently returned to Texas to complete an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler, and began her counseling clinical practice in 2017.
Outside of counseling, Christine delights in spending time with her family, especially her eight nieces and nephews who lovingly know her as "Aunt T." Christine enjoys going on adventures with her dog Bonnie, who has gained many hours of "therapy dog" experience while nestled asleep by Christine's feet during at home office telehealth sessions.

"Ad Gaudium" means "To Joy" in Latin and the yellow rose is a symbol of joy and symbolic of Tyler, TX. Christine strives to utilize her clinical skills and experience in helping others achieve greater joy and fulfillment in their lives through achieving their therapeutic goals.
